Director Jean-Marc Vallée requested some digital landscaping to establish key locations for the physical and emotional journey in his film. The team at Raynault VFX strategically planted Joshua Trees into scenes thus placing Reese Witherspoon’s character in the California National Park. Further along the trail, other regionally appropriate plants were also added to establish springtime.
